Five rounds, each decided by one recorded observation. You see who wins each round, the biggest visible gap with both homepages side by side, and the first move that closes it.
Your rival shows a 4.9★ rating and a quote button in the first viewport; you show neither. Add a visible hero CTA and your 15-year proof line.
01 / THE FIVE ROUNDS
Same test. Both sites. One winner per round.
Most website checks look at one site on its own. Versus puts both through the same five tests and tells you who wins each one, and why.
ROUND 1
Google search
Six searches your customers would type in your country, plus a search for each business name. Who shows up, how high, and which other sites customers find instead of you.
ROUND 2
AI answers
We ask an AI assistant to choose between the two of you. Then we check whether it recommends either of you when a customer asks for suggestions.
ROUND 3
Proof
The reasons a customer would trust you: star ratings and reviews, years in business, number of clients, your Google Maps listing.
ROUND 4
Homepage
What visitors see first, on computer and phone, side by side. Is it clear what you offer, why choose you, and what to do next?
ROUND 5 / FOUNDATIONS
Whose basics are in place?
Twelve behind-the-scenes details that help Google understand your business, such as your address, opening hours and reviews written into the page, and a clear main title.

03 / THE PLAN

One of six changes
Fixes round 4 · Homepage
Put a “Contact us” button and your “15+ years” badge at the top of your homepage
Why: visitors see your competitor's quote button and star rating straight away. On your homepage, they have to scroll to find out how to reach you.
Rewrite the top line so it says what you do and for whom.
Add one button that takes visitors to your contact page.
Show “15+ years” next to it, so there's a reason to trust you.
Who: your web designerTime: about one day
Done when the button and the badge are visible on phone and computer without scrolling.

04 / HOW IT WORKS
Two URLs in. A verdict and a first move out.
1
Name the matchup
Your homepage and the rival's, plus the country where your buyers search. Add a city if they are local.
2
Both sites face the same test
About five minutes: eight Google searches, six AI answers, Maps when local, four captures and twelve markup checks. Every result is saved as a source you can open.
3
Read the verdict, make the first move
Your private link opens the scoreboard, the biggest visible gap and the first move. Unlock the other five when you want the whole plan.
05 / METHOD
A compact test with visible limits.
Versus makes one commercial decision clearer: what to change first. It is a dated snapshot of what buyers see, not a census of every ranking, query, device or buyer. Every round says exactly what was measured.
8
Google searchesSix buyer searches in your market's language and country, plus one search per brand name.
6
AI answersTwo head-to-head picks, two answers about each business by name, two unbranded buyer questions.
4
CapturesDesktop and phone-width first viewports of both homepages, with cue crops.
12
Markup checksBusiness, address, hours, rating and FAQ markup, canonical, language, headings, alt coverage. Plus Google Maps when a city is known.
Search and AI results vary by date, location, personalization and provider. Rounds count recorded observations; a tie is a tie, and anything not measured says so. No ranking or revenue outcome is promised.
06 / FAQ
Questions before you compare.
Is this a full SEO audit?
No. Versus is a head-to-head decision brief: five rounds on two homepages, decided by recorded Google, AI, proof and markup observations, to find the gap worth closing first.
What is free, exactly?
The whole verdict: every round, the deciding observation, both homepages side by side, every source, and your first move with its steps. The other five moves, the copy drafts and the four-week sequence are the paid report.
Can I compare any competitor?
You choose the rival. A direct competitor with an overlapping offer and market gives the sharpest rounds; the analysis first confirms that both sites share a buyer intent.
Why do you ask for the market?
Google results and AI answers change by country. Every search and AI question runs in the country you pick, in its buyers' language. Add a city when your buyers are local: it also enables the Google Maps check. Leave the city empty to test the whole country.
Which AI is tested?
An OpenAI assistant with live web search, in your buyers' language and location, on the day of the run. It is asked to choose between you twice, once in each name order, and only its explicit verdict counts.
Does the report guarantee I will outrank the competitor?
No. Rankings and AI answers change and depend on more than a homepage. Versus records what was observed on one date and prioritizes what to change; it never promises a ranking or revenue result.
How long does it take, and how do I get it?
About five minutes. The comparison opens in your browser and the private link also arrives by email. No account, no newsletters; at most one reminder about your report. Sharing the link shares the free view only.
